Course Description

It builds foundational understanding of how individuals, firms and governments make choices under scarcity; how markets allocate resources; and how the national and global economy function. Students learn core concepts (opportunity cost, demand–supply, elasticity), national income and price level basics, money and banking, government budgeting and taxation, international trade and exchange rate ideas, development issues of Bangladesh, population and labor force, environment and sustainable development, and introductory statistics for economics. Emphasis is on clear diagrams, real-life examples from Bangladesh, practical numerical tasks and exam-style responses aligned with SSC marking criteria.
